Davey stepped into Eddie Stanky's spot in the Giant infield in '52. He began his pro career in '47. The Giants payed $65,000 for His contract after Davey hit .308 and led the Southeastern League 2nd Basemen in Fielding in '48. After he hit .296 for Atlanta in '49, the Giants gave him his first trial. Sent down to Minneapolis in '50, Davey was hitting .287 for them in '51, when the Giants called him up for the second time.
Significantly smaller than today’s baseball cards, the 1909 T206 set cards measure approximately 1 7/16" wide by 2 5/8" tall.
