An All-State Football player in High School, Bob attends Purdue University during the off-season. He has fine control for a young pitcher.



Sid's major league career goes back to 1940 when he joined the Washington Senators. Except for some time spent in service, he remained a steady member of the Washington pitching staff until he was traded to the Red Sox last season. He had appeared in 7 games for the Senators, winning 3 and losing 4, when he went to Boston. He got in 21 games for Hub team, winning 7, losing 9.
