Bill Dickey has been the regular catcher for the New York Yankees since 1929, coming to them from Buffalo in 1928. He has proven himself to be one of the greatest catchers of all time because of his smart handling of pitchers and his ability to prevent stolen bases with his "whip" throwing arm. Bill is also a dangerous man at bat, failing to hit over .300 only once in his 11 years of major-league baseball. He has taken part in four World Series with the Yankees, getting a batting average of .438 in the 1932 Series and .400 in the 1938 Series.
