"One of the spark-plugs of the Brooklyn Dodgers this season is Linus Frey. young shortstop, who was secured in the fall of 1932. He played with Nashville last season, batting .294 in 124 games, and fielding sensationally. He joined the Brooklyn Club last fall and hit .319 in 34 games. Frey is a graduate of the Muny League in St. Louis and began his professional career with Nashville in 1932. "He is 21 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs 160 pounds. Frey bats from either side of the plate."

In 3 years of college basketball, Johnny scored a record 2,537 points! We signed with Pittsburgh in '52 for a big bonus. Although he didn't play the full '55 season, he had the top Pirate batting average.

Jim will be one of the most welcome new citizens in Kansas City this year. Last season with the A's, he led the team in Hits, Doubles and Best Batting Average! In addition to Jim's hitting, he also led the A.L. in D.P.'s for 3rd Basemen. Winning honors is nothing new for the sensational sophomore. In '53 he was the Eastern League All-Star Hot Corner man and hit .300.
