In 5 seasons of Minor League ball, Bill has never failed to hit over .300. At Phoenix in 1947, his first year, he hit .336 in 60 games. He followed this up with .316 and 144 RBI's, and in '49, had a .339 BA and drove in 130 Runs at Bremerton. Bill led the Western League in '50 with .346 at Sioux City and in '53 at Nashville hit .350 and 22 Homers.
One of the AL's top rookie receivers in 1972, Johnny shared O's catching chores with Andy Etchebarren last season. He enjoyed an outstanding season at Rochester in 1971, led IL receivers with a .992 Fielding Percentage and had 73 Assists. Johnny singled in 1st big league at-bat.
