Roberto was first signed by the Dodgers for a bonus. He went to the Pirates from Montreal in '53 via the draft. Last season he took over a regular Pittsburgh outfield berth.



While some of the 1909 T206 Set card backs represent different brands, the layout for some was shared by more than one brand (i.e. Broadleaf and Drum).



One of the "old" men of baseball. Since 1947 was one of his best seasons it shows what a fellow can do if he takes care of himself. Experience and ability are an unbeatable combination. He's had his ups and downs, being sent back to the minors. He fought his way back in two years. Originally a Dodger, he came back from the minors to spend nine years with the Senators.
