During his reign as the best catcher in the game, No. 28 saw shirts around San Francisco backing "Posey for President." The people got what they wanted. In September 2024, the former All-Star and three-time World Series champion was named the team's president of baseball operations.



John was really 'Johnny-on-the-spot' in '53, appearing in the most games and posting the best Pirate ERA. After winning 16 games for Birmingham in '45 he joined Cincinnati and saw action for the Redlegs in '46, '47 and '48. At Toronto in '51, Johnny led the International League with 19 Victories and was drafted by the Pirates for 1953.



Gerry is a very valuable man to have around a pitching mound. His last three seasons have been his best since his first two years in-baseball. In 1951 his record was 19-13; in 1952 it was 17-14; and finally in 1953 he won 18 and lost only 9. Gerry began in baseball in 1941 with Boise of the Pioneer League and won 22 games, the most in the league. He also led in games with 39 and innings pitched with 261. He had a 20-10 record for Boise the next year.
