In his first five starts in 2021, Jake pitched to a 2.57 ERA and struck out 26 batters in 28 innings.
Came within one putout of pitching a no-hitter against the Cardinals in 1950. Had to be satisfied with a 1-hitter. Had a 9-11 record in 32 games. Best year - in either majors or minors - was 1949.
