Satchel led the Negro Leagues in Ks six times before getting a chance to pitch in MLB. In six years in the American League, all after the age of 40, he had an ERA 24% lower than average, adjusting for his ballpark

In 11 years as a Brave Warren's averaged 19 victories per year. He's topped the N.L. in winds & shutouts twice - strikeouts three times. A great pitcher, Warren hurled in 4 All Star games & won the '53 contest.

Being one of the smallest and lightest men in the major leagues is proving to be no handicap for the peppery Lynn Myers. Lynn, a graduate of the St. Louis farm system, came to the Cardinals, late last year from Asheville. For 77 games played with the Asheville Club, Myers compiled a batting average of .307 and for 70 games played with St. Louis, he batted .242, driving in 19 runs. Lynn Myers is a timely hitter, if not a heavy one, and a steady fielder. He made only 18 errors in 323 chances for a fielding average of .944 last year.
