Highpockets Kelly was for years one of the National League's most colorful first-basemen. Despite his height, he was an agile, graceful fielder, and wielded a potent bat, driving the ball hard and far in the days of the "dead ball". He still holds National League fielding records, and at the bat set a major league standard by hitting seven home runs in six consecutive games in 1924. Kelly played mostly in a Giant uniform, and spent his last major league years with Cincinnati and Chicago. The Reds named him a coach in 1935, and in 1938, he switched to the Bees.

Took part in 33 games during 1950, with a record of 5 wins and 14 losses. Began in 1938. Split 1941 among 3 clubs of the Yankee chain - Newark, Kansas City, Binghamton. With the same 3 in 1942, before joining parent club toward close of season. With Kansas City in 1943. Started 1944 with Newark, then came up to Yanks a second time. In the service, 1945. With Yanks, '46. To Pirates, during '47.

Goody Rosen, even though only in the major leagues for two years, is well along the "road to fame." He started playing ball in 1932, with the Binghamton Club of the New York-Pennsylvania League. For the next four years he played for the Louisville Club, batting under .300 only one year. Goody started, his major-league career with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1937 and last year was the leading outfielder defensively in the National League. When he was sold to the Dodgers he was given a "Rosen Day" in Louisville and at the close of the season he was voted the most popular player in a radio station poll. Rosen's major-league record for two years shows a batting average of .285 for 160 games played.
