Fourth in percentage in National League last season with .619. He had a record of 13-8. His best season with Cards was 1946 when he had a 21-10 record, led NL in earned run average with a low 2.10, pitched most innings, .266, and Jed with his 21 victories. Joined Cards at end of 1941 season after three seasons in minors. Spent two years in service.



When the Indians send up a smoke signal spelling trouble, Don swings into action. Last season he was the busiest hurler on the Cleveland squad, appearing 45 times in relief. As a dependable fireman, Don has few equals, as his record shows. When he broke into the Majors with the Indians in 1954, he set down 27 straight opponents while relieving in 6 games. Don started in baseball in 1949.



A star of San Diego's 1941 American Legion National Championship Team, Bob played his first year of minor league ball at Birmingham in 1943, hitting .273. He served in the Navy in 1944-45 and hit .204 at Cincinnati in 1946. The Reds sent him down in '47 and after hitting .316 at Tulsa in '48 and .287 and 14 Homers at Syracuse in '49, Bob was recalled in 1950. He hit .259 in '50 and was traded to the Cubs after the 1951 season.
