George is one of the best fielding players in the game, and also one of its most consistently dangerous hitters. 1952 was the seventh consecutive year that he has hit better than .300. He began the year with Detroit, and after playing in 39 games was traded to Boston. His .311 batting average tied him for third best in the league. George was American League batting champion in 1949.

Last year was Dal's finest in the big leagues as his batting average leaped 26 points over his 1967 finish.

Cliff pitched the only no-hit, no-run game in the National League in 1951 against the Braves. It was the first time since 1944 that a southpaw pitched a no-hitter. A month after accomplishing this feat, he was traded to the Cardinals by the Pirates. The Cubs brought Cliff up to the majors after he led the Pacific Coast League with a 24 and 9 record in 1947. In 1949 he went to the Pirates. He won 13 games in '49 and 12 in '50.
