Maple Leafs Card of the Day

Alex Kerfoot
Kerfoot helped the Maple Leafs ring in the new year with a 6-0 blanking of their provincial rivals, Ottawa, matching a career high with three assists in Toronto on Jan. 1, 2022. He had a career-best 36 helpers in 72 games through April 9, topping his previous high-water mark of 27 with Colorado in 2018-19, and his 48 points to that date were also a new standard.

Name that player!

Came to the Leafs from Detroit in 1946 on a trade for Billy Taylor. Starting his 8th season for the Toronto club. A top-notch two-way player he is an expert at taking a pass and getting the puck away in a flash.

A Toronto born player Billy is one of the crowd's favourites with his dipsy doodle skating and superb stick handling. Bill works very hard at playing hockey and during the year spends much time strengthening his wrists and legs in order to make himself a stronger player. Last year Billy was second top scorer of the Maple Leaf team with 16 goals and 28 assists for a total of 44 points. Billy continued his university education last summer by attending classes at the University of Toronto. Billy played all his amateur hockey with the Leaf Chain and was on the Memorial Cup Champions of 1955.

Pete is getting his second chance to "make it" in the N.H.L. Has spent part of last two seasons between Rochester of A.H.L. and the Leafs. A husky forward who is highly rated by the Leaf management as one of their up and coming younger players.
