Coleman led the Nets in scoring (19.9 ppg) and rebounding (108 rpg) at the 1995 All-Star break but entered the midpoint of the season suffering from a chip fracture in his pelvic bone. Due to injuries, Coleman has yet to play a full 82-game season in his NBA career.
Basketball is a game of ups and downs, and Derrick Coleman can attest to that. The 1991 NBA Rookie of the Year was averaging 20.0 points and 11.6 rebounds per game through the first half of the 1992-93 season, but an 82-game season affects even the best players.
