Nets Card of the Day

John Roche
John enjoyed an exciting rookie campaign in ABA. His ballhandling and accurate jump-shooting proved vital to Nets' successful season. John was twice Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year in college, both times beating out Charlie Scott of North Carolina.

Name that player!

Basketball is a game of ups and downs, and Derrick Coleman can attest to that. The 1991 NBA Rookie of the Year was averaging 20.0 points and 11.6 rebounds per game through the first half of the 1992-93 season, but an 82-game season affects even the best players. Though there are times when he's feeling worn out, Coleman is always ready for the next hardwood battle.

There are all kinds of bridges crisscrossing the waterways around New York City. Then there's Bridges, who crossed up defenders and let his offense flow as soon as he arrived in Brooklyn during 2022-23. Acquired from the Suns, he ramped up his scoring to 26.1 points per game in 27 starts for the Nets.

The stacked Nets suddenly found themselves shorthanded in the 2021 Eastern Conference semis against the Bucks. That didn't faze Durant. Picking up the slack and pouring it on even more, he produced 35.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists during the seven-game set. He brought home a win in Game 5 with a stunning 49-point triple-double.

Drazen Petrovic
The hunger to succeed is personified in New Jersey's Drazen Petrovic, and when success arrives, he is among the first to celebrate. Petrovic had plenty to pump his fist about in the first half of 1992-93 as his league-leading .472 three-point field goal percentage helped the Nets improve by nine games over their record at the 1992 NBA All-Star break.
