Bill Paultz
New York Nets Coach Lou Carnesecca rates Bill "a comer." "I see a fine future for him in the pros." As a senior, in helping the St. John's Red men reach the National Invitation Tournament as the team's starting center, Bill averaged 15.5 points per game as well as 14.5 rebounds per game. He also tied the St. John's school record of 25 rebounds in a game set by Leroy Ellis.

Signed as a free agent 1/31/89... Impressed the Nets with his ability to play both guard and forward... His teammates at lowa included B.J. Armstrong, Kevin Gamble, Ed Horton and Roy Marble - all four were NBA draft picks.



Brown, a productive scorer off the bench, averaged 19 minutes per game his first two pro years, but was slowed by ankle problems last season. He started 51 games for the Cavaliers during the 1990-91 campaign.



Gatling come into his own last year, making his first NBA All-Star Team and establishing career highs in points and scoring average in a mere 47 games.
