The second-year guard out of Florida State dished out a career-high 16 assists against Golden State on February 25 and, on April 7, poured in a career-best 31 points against Portland.

New York, NY, May 14, 1993 - Houston's Hakeem Olajuwon, the league blocked-shot leader in three of the last four seasons, has been named the 1993 NBA Defensive Player of the Year. In 1992-93, the 7-0 Nigerian rejected 55 more shots (342) than any other player, led all centers in steals (150) and was second in defensive rebounds (785). He captured 74% of the possible votes.
