Name that player!

Perhaps the best all-around performer in professional basketball, Elgin handles himself with the dexterity and maneuverability of a small man. He is equally adept at bringing up the ball under the boards. He can shoot, rebound, pass, dribble and quarterback a club almost as well as any man alive. He has blistering speed, stamina, strength and tremendous spirit. It is difficult to say which is his best shot. He hooks from 20 feet out, drives for layups, jumps from the top of the key and hits with soft push shots from the corner. Here he hangs in mid-air as he gets off an under-the-basket shot with no one near him.

Now Shaq can patrol more than the paint. Prior to the '02-03 season, O'Neal was designated a second-class reserve officer by the port of L. A. Police Department. He completed enough training to fight crime and carry a gun.

Kobe is on his way to becoming one of the most transcendent players of his generation. His scoring makes headlines, but coach Phil Jackson revealed last year, "I'm making him do a lot more...Which is to organize the offense, to get it efficiently to run, to break down pressure."
