Name that player!

Starling homered in back-to-back games against the Diamondbacks within his initial two weeks with the Mets in 2022, showing the pop that made him such an attractive offseason signing. The two-time fielding award winner stole his 300th base on April 29.

His 2022 runs-allowed slate was clean until his 13th appearance; Drew advanced into progressively higher-leverage roles. In one of those outings, he contributed four outs to the second no-hitter in Mets history. A pitch-switch was the key. Smith abandoned his cutter for a slider that featured a spin rate 200-plus-rpms higher than the offering it replaced.

Signed in November, Mark brings a long ledger of high on-base percentages and average-plus power to Citi Field. He's chalked up a .296 AVG with runners in scoring position the last two seasons.
