Jim Kaat
Necessity is the mother of invention, which is why the left-handed Kaat learned to play golf as a righty in the early 1960s. Lefty clubs were hard to come by at the time, so he taught himself to swing from the other side of the tee. The pitching legend procured the proper hardware in later years and became an ambidextrous force on the links.

Dave pitched impressive ball after joining Twins from Tacoma last July. He has a fine minor league set of credentials, he was Topps Northern League Player of the Month in 1968. Dave led loop in Complete Games, K's, Innings & was 2nd in ERA, Wins & Pct.



The veteran relief specialist was the busiest man on the Twins' staff last year, leading the club in total appearances.



Completing his first full season with The Twins last year, Ted's 7 triples tied him for the club lead. The tall, lefthanded batter had compiled a sensational record in the minor leagues, including two batting championships. A real speedster, he has been clocked at 3.6 seconds in getting down to first base.
