Spencer took the ABA by storm in 1969-70, gaining All-League, and All-Rookie team honors and being named MVP and Rookie of the Year. He led the ABA in scoring and rebounding, setting new league marks in all but the points per game category. As a member of the West team in the ABA All-Star Game that year, he gained MVP honors by scoring 23 points and by grabbing 19 rebounds.
One of the greatest perimeter defenders in the modern era, "The Glove's" 2,402 career steals rank third all time in NBA history behind only Michael Jordan and John Stockton.
In a career filled with superlatives, Karl added an exclamation point on February 2, 1996: 27 PTS, 15 REB and 10 AST (plus only one to in 40 minutes) for his first triple-double.
