With off-season additions such as Terry Mills and draftee Charles Smith, coach Pat Riley has stoked the Heat with three-point firepower. Smith, who passed Chicago Bulls' center Luc Longley as the U. of New Mexico's all-time leading scorer, can break a man down off the dribble. But his usual shot of choice is from beyond the arc, where he took 41 percent of his FGAs as a Lobo senior.

One of the NBA's finest all-around players, John made First Team All-Stars once again last season. He led Celtics in Scoring, was 9th in NBA for Free Throw Percentages with .858 and was 7th in Assists with 6.6.

Phil was a 2-year starter at California where he averaged 18 points per game in 1970-71. An excellent defensive player with good quickness and offensive moves, he has been described as a player with a style similar to that of Walt Frazier of the Knicks. Phil is a fine ballhandler.
