One of the NBA's finest rookies of the 1976-77 campaign, Robert was selected to the league's All-Rookie Second Team as the center. The eighth player chosen in the 1976 NBA College Draft, he has good hands and handles the inside pass well from a penetrating teammate. Robert was a Sporting News All-American choice in 1975.



Traded to New York, along with the 12th pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft, in exchange for the 9th pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft. Played in more career regular-season games than any other player in Indiana Fever history (159). Ranks second in Fever history in career blocked shots (131).



Stockton passed Earvin "Magic Johnson as the NBA's all-time assist leader with his 16 dishes on February 1, 1995. Later that month (Feb. 18, 1995), he became the first player in NBA history to eclipse the 10,000-assist plateau and by season's end had captured his eighth assist title, tying Bob Cousy for an NBA record.
