Over a decade in Colorado beginning in 1995, Larry instituted new franchise marks for AVG (.334), OBP (.426) and SLG (.618). The all-tools outfielder took NL MVP honors in 1997 with a .366-49-130 line, while also earning one of his seven fielding awards.
This young man rewrote the New York Mets records in 1968 as he paced the club in wins (19), shutouts (7) and with a sparkling 2.08 earned run average. The amazing thing about it was that he accomplished these feats in his rookie season. Jerry has pin-point control and changes speeds effectively.
Wayne had a truly impressive war record, having served with the Fightin' Marines at Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. A terrific hustler, he's known as "Twig". The Cubs brought Wayne up in 1949 after he had played 115 games for Los Angeles and hit .278. As a regular in 1950, he hit only .242 but banged out 10 homers. In 1951, he was traded to the Dodgers. During the off-season, he attends Western Michigan College.
