There is an oddity in the fact that he had only 10 hits, but 7 of them were for extra bases. He had 5 homers and 2 triples. George is one of only five major leaguers who have hit pinch home runs in the World Series. He hit his in 1953. He also scored 2 runs in one inning in 1952, which tied a major league record. The record has since been broken, but George's feat stands as a National League tie record.
