Johnny is one of the finest all around second sackers in baseball. He's a dangerous hitter and his ability to get clutch hits is respected by every hurler in the Loop. Playing in his first All Star Game last July, he collected two hits, drove in a run and was pivot man in the only D.P. of the game. Johnny started baseball in 1948 at Ogden with a .400 mark.
Ronnie's a hometown boy who made good. He had an 18-4 record with 208 S.O.'s at Bartlesville in '51. Before rejoining Pittsburgh in '55 he was in service for 2 years.
Despite a severe illness which almost ended his baseball career, Bruce Campbell is still a top-flight outfielder in the American League. He came up with the Chicago White Sox in 1930, was traded to the Browns two years later, and to the Cleveland Indians in 1934. The Indians sent him to Detroit in a straight trade for Roy Bell this year. Campbell is a consistent hitter, always batting around the .300 mark, and a good run producer. He has driven across a total of 566 tallies, batting 72 of them in last year. Campbell got "six for six" in the first game of a double-header, July 2, 1936, an outstanding feat.
