For the second consecutive season, Tommy led the Chicago White Sox staff with fourteen victories in 1966. The tall southpaw started thirty-three ballgames, the most on the club and completed ten contests. Tommy came to the Sox along with Tommy Agee via a three club trade involving eight players in early 1965.
Went to the Reds from the Phils in a winter trade. In 125 games for Eddie Sawyer in 1951. Batted .287. Had 8 home runs, 5 triples, 20 doubles. Drove in 52 runs. Began in baseball in 1939. Broke into majors in home city, St. Louis, in 1946. Traded to Phils for '48.
Eddie, one of the best defensive infielders in the American League, could be called "The Walking Man." He led the American League in drawing bases on balls during 1952 with 129. He was in a batting slump most of year, hitting only .233. He's capable of a better average as his preceding years show. In 1951 he hit .283 and in 1950 batted .295. He's never played in minors.
