An able catcher, Walter Millies has been in and out of the majors since 1934. He first came up with the Brooklyn Dodgers, was farmed out and returned in 1936 with the Washington Senators. Millies played with the Nats for two years, was sent out again in 1938, and last year was obtained by the Phillies. Millies has not seen too much major league action, but he has proved his capabilities behind the plate. He handles pitchers well, and at the bat, despite low averages, gets his share of bingles and should improve.
