Harry is returning to baseball in 1955 after spending some time in military service. He began in baseball in 1950 with the Cubs Springfield farm team. At the end of the season, after hitting .317 for Springfield, he moved to the Cubs for 3 games. He was with Springfield, Des Moines and Chicago in 1951, Springfield and Chicago in 1952, and with the Cubs for 32 games in 1953 before leaving for service.
Sal pitched part of one season with the Giants, then jumped to the Mexican League, returning to organized baseball for the 1950 season. Since his return he has won 59 games and lost 18. His 23 wins in 1951 tied him for the most wins in the league, and aided the Giants' pennant cause immeasurably. In 1950 his 18-4 record gave Sal a .818 percentage, the best in the league.
Captain and 14-year veteran in big leagues. Hit .279 last season as a converted outfielder. Injured good part of campaign. Best year was 1945 when he hit .355 to lead league. Capable fielder and great hustler. Was 19 year-old regular in 1935 World Series.
