Just when everybody was writing Gene Moore's major league obituary, Gene was placed in the Brooklyn outfield and came through. Manager Leo Durocher has a lot of faith in Moore's ability. Moore was traded to Brooklyn by the Boston Bees last year, and if he proved nothing else, he showed he could hit a timely ball. He drove in thirty-nine runs for the Dodgers. Moore has been in pro ball since 1929, and in the majors has seen action with Cincinnati, St. Louis, Boston and Brooklyn. And as June 1940 begins Gene Moore will be wearing the uniform of the Boston Bees having been traded to them by Brooklyn fo little more than the waiver price.

Known as "Ozark Ike", Gus won the H.R. and R.B.I. crowns in '51. He broke his collarbone in '54 for the 2nd time but he wouldn't quit! In '55, he came back strong - placing second in A.L. homers.

Dubbed "Hard Luck Houtteman" because of a series of bad breaks which dotted his six years with Detroit, Art began to hit the comeback trail with the Indians after the trade last summer. He won 7 and lost 7 for the Tribe. A good hitter and considered by experts to have as much "stuff" as any pitcher in the league. Won 19 for Tigers in 1950.
