"Carl Hubbell finished 1933 season as most valuable player of the National League and as leading pitcher of the League on the basis of earned runs, leading the League in innings pitched and games won. He allowed an average of 1.65 runs per game and established the National League record of 46 consecutive scoreless innings. He joined the Giants in 1928 and in 1929 pitched a no-hit, no- run game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the only one of the League. He was born in Carthage, Mo., June 22, 1903, stands an even 6 feet high and weighs 170 pounds. He pitches left-handed but bats either left-handed or right-handed."
Billy is a good young left handed pitcher. He was in 33 games in 1952; won 15 and lost 12. He began in baseball in 1945 with Buffalo. He joined the Detroit Tigers at the end of the season, but had no decisions. He spent 1946 and 1947 with Buffalo, then came to the Tigers in 1948. He was traded to the White Sox the following season.
Lou's first experience in OB was with Ponca City in Western Association in 1937. He remained with them next season and then moved up to Los Angeles for 1939 and 1940. He spent next two seasons in uniform of Chicago Cubs and then three seasons in service. Red Sox brought him up. at end of 1948 from Pacific Coast League.
