"Leo Durocher is credited with being the best fielding shortstop of the National League. He was traded by Cincinnati to the St. Louis Cardinals early last season and is now grabbing them off the ground and stopping line drives for the Cardinals. Never a phenomenal hitter he is consistently pulling up his batting average and last year jumped it to .253, his best in major league baseball. Leo was born in West Springfield, Mass., and began his career with the New York Yankees regularly in 1928. In 1930 he went to Cincinnati and was traded last year to the Cardinals. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tail, weighs around 160 pounds, and throws and bats right-handed."
