Appeared in 96 games for Cards last season and had a .321 batting average. Ron spent three seasons in minors before coming to majors with Philadelphia Phillies in 1942. In 1944 he hit a home run in 15th inning of a game against Boston Braves to win longest 1-0 game in modern major league history decided by a homer. Traded to Cards in May of 1947.



"Dizzy" Trout was one of the most effective pitchers in the American League last year. His record shows nine victories and ten defeats, but he had an earned run average of only 3.61, placing him fourteenth among the league's pitchers in effectiveness - not a bad showing for a young man in his first full year in the majors. "Dizzy" came up from Beaumont in the Texas League after winning the league's most valuable player prize in 1938. He won 22 and dropped only six that year with Beaumont, and off his first-year showing. with the Tigers it is safe to say that he will be heard from this year.



Paul once aspired to be a fighter pilot, but his massive size and ridiculously powerful right arm led him down a different path as one of the most highly anticipated pitching prospects ever. Skenes made his pro debut in 2023 and dominated Triple-A for the first month of the following season before bringing his triple-digit heat to Pittsburgh in May.
