In 77 games in 1950. Batted .246. Drove in 35 runs with 61 hits. Had 10 doubles. Hit 8 home runs. In 1949, batted .267. Drove in 75 runs. Began in organized baseball in 1935. Came to the A's in 1941. In the service during the 1944 and 1945 seasons. On return in 1946, hit .281 in 128 games. Can play second, third and short. In 1947, led the League's second basemen in fielding with .984 percentage.



Bubba began the 1952 season with the Phillies, his original major league team, and after appearing in 2 games for them, he came to the Cincinnati Reds. He was in 29 games for the Rhinelanders. winning 5 and losing 9. He pitched 158 innings. 1947 was Bubba's first in organized ball, and he came to the majors with the Phils in 1950. He had a 15-11 record the next season.



Lee Grissom made his debut in baseball in 1934 with the Beckley Club, of the Middle Atlantic League, and was purchased by Cincinnati the same year and optioned to Fort Worth, with whom he played in 1935. He was recalled by Cincinnati the same year and optioned to Nashville, recalled by Cincinnati in 1936, pitching for them ever since. In 1937 he pitched in 50 games, winning 12 and losing 17. He was out of baseball most of last year because of injuries, but is back in the lineup this year and is well on the road to becoming the "strikeout king of the National League by virtue of one of the fastest balls in the league.
