Chuck's Dodgers won the National League pennant in '52 after missing out in the playoffs in 1951. Chuck played 3rd base through most of his active playing career which started with Maline in 1919 and ended with the Giants in '33. He managed Nashville for 4 years, Cincinnati for 4 years and Oakland for 2 years. He was a Dodger coach from '39 to '46 and on the Yankee staff in '47 and '48.
After having been in the Cardinal organization since '46, Lou sees action with the Phillies this season. A sparkling defensive second sacker, he helped set an I.L. Dou- ble Play record in '53 by taking part in 184 Twin Killings. Starting in the Texas League, he played at Omaha and Allentown in '47 and posted good B.A.'s at both stops.
