In the Cardinals' lineup for 93 games in 1950. Hit .256. Drove in 23 runs. In first complete season for St. Louis (1949), Eddie had a .304 batting average in 92 games. Drove in 42 runs. Kept out of action for most of the latter part of the season by an ankle injury. Brought up from Rochester and played third base in 6 games for Cards, 1948. 2nd baseman until then. In service 3 years.

The series stood at two games apiece and this was the crucial game. When Jim Turner told me on Friday that I was to start on Sunday I was the happiest person in the world. It was an exciting game all the way, and but for a ball which took a bad hop in the eighth inning, I'm sure I would have finished. However, that game will always be in my memory.
One of the Giants' timeliest batters, Bobby saw action as a utility infielder and pinch hitter last season. In '44 he started with Springfield, spending the '46 and '47 seasons at Trenton and hitting .319 for Sioux City in '48. In '50 he hit .296 at Oakland and rejoined the Giants in '52 after batting .290 at Minneapolis in '51.
