Last season, Bob's third in the majors, was also his best. In 153 games for Brownies, he had a .321 batting average, sixth best in AL. He made most hits, 207, and led league in stolen bases with 28. He was listed on Brownies roster for 1943, 1944 and 1945 - years he spent in service. Had four years' experience in minors. His .321 average last year was his highest in OB.

Bill came up to the Majors for the 2nd time in '52... he had a brief trial with the Phillies in '49. After starting his pro ball career with a .328 Batting Average at Americus in '46, Bill played for Utica and Toronto. With Baltimore in '51, Bill hit .250 and 15 HR's. Prior to being called up by the Indians in '52, he was banging the ball at a .303 clip for Sacramento.
