He celebrated his first season in professional baseball by pitching a no-hit no-run game for Waterbury in 1926. Went to Cincinnati Reds two years later. He spent the following year at Columbus in the American Association, but came. back to the big show with the Cleveland Indians for whom he pitched several years. He was traded to the Red Sox, later went to Newark in another deal. At Newark won 11 games and lost only 1, when he was grabbed by Yankees. Right-hander, 5 ft. 11 in., 180 lbs. Born at Terryville, Conn., 1904.
Nine times Edward was recalled from Triple-A to provide short-term help to the 2021 Royals. In one stretch of 11 games, he launched five home runs.
"Kip" first gained prominence in Baseball Circles as a top pitcher for Wisconsin U. in '50. The Phils were quick to spot good talent and signed him to a contract, sending him to Utica for seasoning. In '52 he posted a 3.62 E.R.A. mark with Schenectady and the next year followed up with a 9-1 record and 2.48 ERA. In '53, for the Phillies he split 6 decisions in relief.
