Dave was used mainly in relief by the Boston Braves in 1952. He appeared in 22 games, of which he started but 3. Worked 45 innings, giving up 38 hits. He won 1 and lost 1. He's only been in organized baseball since 1948. First came to the majors at the end of the 1950 season with Boston after compiling a 6-5 record for their Milwaukee team, then in the American Association.



The flashy fielding shortstop was one of Boston's surprise devekopments last season. Second to none in fielding, Rico makes all the plays required of a major league shortstop. Although he still must prove he can hit big league pitching consistently, Rico showed good power at the plate and is full of determination. The Boston organization is very high on this rapidly improving youngster.



Although only in his middle twenties, Chuck is a veteran of 8 Major League campaigns. He started with the Red Sox in '47 and gained recognition as a top-flight hurler when he won 11 games in '49. He followed with 12 victories the next year and had a 10-9 record in '51. The '52 season found him in a Chisox uniform and he posted a 3.13 E.R.A. before joining the Nats.
