Michael J. Doolan, shortstop of the Baltimore Federal League Club, was born at Ashland, Pa., in 1880. He first gained fame at Villanova, Pa., College in 1900 and 1901. His professional career began the next season with Jersey City, of the Eastern League, as a second baseman. Brooklyn put in a draft for him, but cancelled him, and the Philadelphia Nationals secured him at the close of 1904. He played with the Phillies until the end of the 1913 season, and after returning from the tour of the world with the Giants, joined the Baltimore Federal League Club.
