Signed to a Minor League contract before the season, Ronnie emerged as the Opening Day 2nd baseman for Cleveland. His best batting average came as a rookie in 1999 when he hit .295.

MY BIGGEST THRILL IN BASEBALL by Hank Majeski. My biggest thrill came to me in the past World Series, the Indians against the New York Giants. In the 4th game, I was sent in to pinch-hit for the pitcher in the 5th inning, with two men on base. I hit a home run. As you know, the Giants beat us four straight, and my home run did not play a "Merriwell" part. However, though it may have been only a "personal achievement," it was a tremendous thrill, since this was the only World Series I've ever been in.

Hal, after 6 major league seasons as an outfielder, went back to pitching in 1954. He hadn't pitched since his first year in organized ball, 1946, when he pitched and played the outfield. In 1954 he got into 43 games for the Cubs, all but 3 of them relief appearances. He won 5 games and lost 6. Hal worked 104 innings. He did work in the outfield, appearing in 3 games. Hal hit .258, and drove in 6 runs. He's a good fielder.
