Who had the highest batting average in the National League since 1900?
View AnswerCoffee Talk Name that player!
Defensively, there are few outfielders in the National League better than Harry Craft. Craft, whose brother Tom is a Southwestern scout for the Cincinnati Reds, is one of the fastest men in the league, and covers an amazing amount of ground in center field. His batting average is deceiving, for although he hit only .257 last year, he brought in 67 runs. He hit 13 homers. 7 triples and 20 two-baggers. At Mississippi College, which he attended for three and a half years, Craft was one of the outstanding football players in the history of the college.
Jordan was able to maintain velocity as a starter. In a seven-inning outing in April, his 87th and last pitch of the day registered 99 mph on radar.
