In 122 games in 1950, hitting .283. Had 127 hits, good for 185 bases. Drove in 60 runs. Entered organized baseball in 1940. Made the majors at the end of the 1943 season with the Indians. In the service for the next 2 years. Returned to Cleveland in 1946. With Pittsburgh in 1947. In the minors in 1948. Up to the Yanks in 1949. Took part in 112 games that year, and had a 270 batting average.



Cincinnati obtained this slick-throwing southpaw from Minnesota in exchange for shortstop Leo Cardenas. In 1967, Jim was voted the Twins' Pitcher of the Year. He's a low ball hurler and control is his strong point.



With 2 1⁄2 years of Service in the Marines behind him, Joe made his debut in pro ball in 1947. In '47 and '48 Joe had 13-5 and 12-6 records and hurled for Indianapolis in 1949 and '50, winning 19 and losing 18. The Pirates gave him a trial in 1951 but returned him to Indianapolis where he had a 7-5 mark and was recalled. During the off-season, Joe is in the oyster business.
