Name that player!

Lou was wounded in action while in Army by shell explosion. It forces him to wear a heavy brace on his left leg. Was a star at Presbyterian College, both on mound and at first base, and played good ball in Army. Last season, his first in majors, saw him win 14 games and lose 10. He struck out 127 batters and was one of the mainstays of the good Athletic pitching staff.

In '68, Don led Baltimore in hitting and with 27 stolen bases. He had a perfect 1.000 fielding average!

Pitch 2 no-hit games in succession in the majors? Why, it can't be done. Or so it would seem. But Johnny has done it. It happened back in 1938 when he was with Cincinnati. On June 11 he hurled a no-hitter against Brooklyn and did the same against Boston on his next mound assignment, June 15. Traded by the Reds to the Cubs for 1950. Released by Cubs, spring of 1951. Signed with Indians.
