Son of Larry Gilbert, one-time Brave and Giant outfielder, "Tookie" is back for another try with the Giants. A polished fielder and long-ball hitter, he led the American Association in Homers in 1951. "Tookie" got a $50,000 bonus when the Giants signed him in 1947. After hitting .334 at Nashville in 1949, the Giants brought him up in '50, but he didn't stick.

Read through his 2006 Topps Allen & Ginter card, and find out that Dan Johnson of the Athletics was acquired via draft in June, 2001. He has racked up 15 four-baggers, while cracking 103 hits, scoring 54 tallies and driving home 58 baserunners.

Although a newcomer, Camilo made himself right at home in '54 by leading the Nats' staff in Most Games Pitched. He hurled almost as many games last year as he did in '52-'53 Minor League seasons combined! Starting with Geneva in '51 Camilo worked his way up to Havana in '52 winning 8 games. He chalked up 10 Victories in the next year, to earn a promotion.
