Adbert had trouble facing left-handed hitters. Then in September, he held them to a mere .219/.265/.344 slash line, with a manageable 1.0 HR/9, a whopping 29.4% K rate, and a 5.9% walk rate. As a reliever, in 19.1 innings, he sported a 1.40 ERA with two unintentional walks. He allowed only one homer and K'd 21. His fastball had more velocity in relief.

After a great year with Chattanooga, Jim came to the Redlegs and hurled an impressive 4-hitter against the Braves in his only N.L. starting assignment last season. Breaking into Baseball in '44, he worked his way up to Charlotte in '49 where he posted a good 2.38 E.R.A., and won a trial with the Senators. In '50 he appeared in 20 games for Washington and 4 in '53.

Matt is among the MLB leaders in homers since 2019. He's one of just five players in the Statcast Era through 2023 to hit two homers at least 450 feet in one week. In his first 400 games with the Braves, he hit 36% better than League average (OPS). adjusted for park, similar to his career rate.
