Ray is the best lefthanded pitcher on the St. Louis Cardinal team since Harvey Haddix. After a disappointing season last year, Ray is confident that he will return to his 1964 form this year.



Coming on strong in Triple-A the last couple years, Hoffpauir was elevated to the Majors in May 2008 and produced a .412 batting average over 15 games for the Cubs from 5/21 to 6/19.



With exception of two games played in minors at beginning of 1939 season, Walt's entire career in organized baseball has been spent in majors with Washington Senators. His best season was in 1947 when he had a record of 12-16 for Nats, and was chosen for AL All Star team. He spent three years in service. Last season his record read 8-15.
