Dave is one of the few ballplayers who could have made the Majors as a pitcher or an outfielder! His Minor League record at both positions is outstanding. Owen Wilson, outfielder of the St. Louis National League Club, was born at Austin, Texas, February 10, 1883, and started his professional career with Austin after graduating from the University of Texas. He remained with Pittsburgh until the winter of 1913, when he was traded to St. Louis in that famous deal. He played great ball for St. Louis. He is a right-handed thrower and left-handed hitter.
