"Wally" Moses proved once again that he is one of the most consistent of American League outfielders. Last year, for the sixth consecutive season, Moses batted over .300. He hit .309 for the Philadelphia Athletics, produced 50 runs with his 166 hits - which numbered among them 41 doubles, 9 homers, and 9 triples and scored 91 runs himself. He was fifth among the outfielders defensively, with a percentage of .974 in 142 games.

As he took his lead off first base on July 23, 2023, Jeremy Pena thought it might be a good idea to test the arm of the rookie catcher behind the dish. He soon thought otherwise. Soderstrom fired a strike to second that caused the Houston shortstop to do an about-face, and he was tagged out for the first caught-stealing of the backstop's career.

Robbie's AL-best 2.84 ERA and 248 strikeouts in 2021 triggered his selection as the AL Cy Young Award recipient. The Mariners scooped him up in free agency, adding a rotation-fronting horse who owns the MLB record of 1,241 SOs in a pitcher's first 1,000 IP.
