George was signed by Detroit in '39 after starring in High School. The next Spring he was made a free agent and he signed with the Braves. He hit .308 for Evansville in '42 and .325 for San Francisco in '43 before being brought up by the Red Sox. He played for the Sox until the Indians bought him in '47. He went to Oakland in '48. George was voted the Pacific Coast League's Most Valuable Player in '50 and was drafted from Oakland by the Pirates.

Dick was one of the flashiest rookies in the American League last season, sparkling in the field and at the plate. Coming to Kansas City after hitting .338 with Shreveport in 1960, Dick established a new Kansas City stolen base record of 37. He has a bright future ahead

At Mobile in 1941, Erv hit 18 Homers, earning the nickname, "Four Sack." He came up with the Cards in 1946, after trials in '41 and '42 and 3 years in Military Service. In 1948, Erv switched to pitching, from playing the infield and outfield, and at Rochester in '49, he won 11, lost 8 and hurled a 1-hit game. Back with the Cards in '50, he was used in relief and was traded to the Pirates in '51. Erv had a 0-1 mark in '51 before he switched back to the outfield.
