Snyder caught in the majors from 1912 through 1927, dividing his career between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Giants. He started with the Cardinals in 1912 and was traded back to them in 1926. After 1927, Snyder caught and managed Houston to a Texas League pennant and a Dixie series crown; switched to Fort Worth mid-way in the 1929 season and went to St. Paul as a catcher in 1931.
